OPPI elects A Vaidheesh as new president

New Delhi: The Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) has unanimously elected A Vaidheesh, vice president, South Asia & Managing Director, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals as president for the year 2017-18.


Vaidheesh takes over from Shailesh Ayyangar, managing director, Sanofi India, who held this position since 2013.


The four elected vice presidents are Sharad Tyagi, managing director, Boehringer Ingelheim; Sanjiv Navangul, managing director, Janssen India; S Sridhar, managing director, Pfizer and Anand Nambiar, managing director of Merck India.

"The pharmaceutical industry has an important role to play in delivering responsible health care and we look forward to partnering with the government and other stakeholders in realizing the collective dream of a healthy India," Vaidheesh said.
