Dr Abhinay named as new CEO of KIMS Hospitals

In his previous role as Vice-President, Dr Abhinay oversaw Business Development and Strategy for KIMS Hospitals, a statement said.


Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS Hospitals), a leading multi-disciplinary provider of healthcare services in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Dr.B. Abhinay as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).


In his previous role as Vice-President, Dr Abhinay oversaw Business Development and Strategy for KIMS Hospitals, a statement said.


In this role, Dr Abhinay has been instrumental for KIMS Hospitals’ organic and inorganic growth initiatives, including setting up a 200-bed medical facility in Kondapur and partnering with existing hospitals in Vizag, Anantapur, and Ongole, the hospital said in a release here.


Dr Abhinay has played a critical role in the growth of the KIMS Hospital network to the 3004-bed system across nine locations in Andhrapradesh and Telangana.


Leading global growth equity firm, General Atlantic, has been a significant minority investor in the company since 2018.


KIMS Hospitals Managing Director Dr Bhaskar Rao said Dr Abhinay has made a significant contribution to the company by helping expand KIMS recently in Andhra Pradesh, and we are confident that he will provide strong leadership to fulfil our hospital’s growth aspirations.


Under his leadership, KIMS Hospitals is already exploring expansion opportunities in regions like Indore, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati, he added.

Speaking on his appointment. Dr Abhinay said, "we will continue to keep an eye out on newer geographies while ensuring that we put all our efforts in harnessing technologies and people management to deliver on our vision."


Dr B. Abhinay, who completed his MBBS from the Deccan Medical College, Hyderabad in 2010, was the lone qualified medical practitioner from India to be selected by the office of Hillary Clinton in 2011, to travel across the United States of America and understand healthcare in general and cancer care in particular.
