Fujifilm Max Healthcare to jointly train doctors in breast cancer detection

New Delhi: Max Healthcare super speciality hospital in the National Capital on Tuesday signed a partnership with Japan's Fujifilm to train doctors in early detection of breast cancer.

"According to health ministry, breast cancer ranks as the number one cancer among Indian females with rate as high as 25.8 per 100,000 women and mortality of 12.7 per 100,000 women. We at Fujifilm understand the importance of early detection and are committed at improving the survival rates with advance treatments. Our revolutionary Amulet Innovality is one such product that has made early detection of breast cancer a reality for women all over the world," Mr Haruto Iwata,MD, Fujifilm India said on the occassion.

Under the partnership, Fujifilm will sponsor an advanced six-month fellowship in breast imaging with Max Healthcare. "The partnership will start with training one doctor for six months through the Max-Fujifilm Collaboration fellowship programme and will also train two radiologists per year towards early detection of Breast Cancer, said Bharat Aggarwal, director of radiology services at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket.
