New Delhi: Malaysian firm IHH Healthcare Berhad has recently announced its open offer for acquiring up to 26% stake in Fortis Healthcare is likely to be completed by December-end.

The company also said that it currently has no immediate specific plans to change the brand name of Fortis Healthcare though it has several brands that could be considered if a decision is taken regarding this in future.

When asked when IHH plans to complete the open offer for acquiring up to 26% stake from the existing shareholders in Fortis, IHH Healthcare Berhad MD and CEO Tan See Leng said the company is hopeful of completing it by the end of December.

The IHH CEO had earlier stated that “In the long term and going ahead we would like to rebrand the Fortis hospitals to our own brand, Gleneagles.”
