SC entrepreneur launches Ayurvedic proprietary medicine
Union Minister of State for Ayush Shripad Yesso Naik launched an Ayurvedic proprietary medicine "Elixir for Life", which is produced by a beneficiary of the Venture Capital Fund Scheme for Scheduled Castes (SC) Entrepreneurs, said a government statement.
The event was also attended by Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in 2014 launched Venture Capital Fund Scheme for the Scheduled Castes (SC) entrepreneurs and the manufacturer of the medicine. Mallur Flora & Hospitality Ltd. is the beneficiary of this scheme. Fifty entrepreneurs have benefited from this scheme till date.
This scheme provides concessional finance to the Scheduled Castes entrepreneurs.
According to Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) there are 1,000 dalit entrepreneurs with combined turnover of Rs 60,000 crore. There are around 50 companies with a turnover of Rs 10 crore or more.
