Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission to conduct training program for Drug Regulators, others; invites nominations
New Delhi: In order to impart training to drugs regulators, drugs analysts and other stakeholders on the issue related to testing, techniques and standards on drugs in the country, the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has recently called for a four-day training programme for all the Drugs Controller and Government Officials of the Central, State and Regional Drugs Testing Laboratories from February 10 to February 13 2020.
Confirmation to this effect has been given by Dr Jai Praksh, Secretary-cum-Scientific Director (I/C), IPC, Ghaziabad through a letter addressed to the stakeholders. The letter has invited the officials for participating in the training programme under the title- 'Four Days (04) Training Programme on NABL Accreditation as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for Government Officials of Central State and Regional Drugs Testing Laboratories.'
The notification mentioned that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has undertaken an exercise for capacity building of drug testing facilities in the country. Recently, the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratory (NABL) has updated/modified their Standard ISO/IEC - 17025:2005 to ISO/OEC -17025:2017, which is now effective.
ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is an international standard which sets outs the general requirements for the competence of testing & calibration laboratories. It specifies the impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories. It is applicable to all organizations performing laboratory activities, regardless of the number of personnel. The purpose of this document is to enable the laboratories about the NABL's Policies for accreditation as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
In order to provide first-hand information on new ISO/IEC 17025:2017, it has become imperative to provide training to the responsible official for accreditations working in the Central, State and Reginal Drugs Testing Laboratories.
"In this reference, the IPC proposes to conduct four-day training programme entitled "Four Days 04)Training Programme on NABL Accreditation as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for Government Official of Central, State and Regional Drugs Testing Laboratories" From 10/02/2020 to 13/02/2020 at Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad, " reads the letter.
Accordingly, the stakeholders have been directed to depute one or two government officials, responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and accreditations along with their contact no, email ID and payscale, from laboratories under their control to attend the above-mentioned training programme. The TA accommodation, food and local transport will be provided by IPC.
As per the letter, the nominations may be sent by e-mail to Dr Meenakshi Dahiya at meenakshi.ipc@gov.in or PS to Director at lab.ipc@govt.in on or before 31/01/2020.
