Opto Circuits to launch new catheter for dialysis patients
New Delhi : Medical devices firm Opto Circuits Germany-based subsidiary Eurocor will launch coated shunt balloon catheter used for patients undergoing dialysis.
"The balloon is indicated for patients who undergo dialysis as they suffer from end stage renal failure," Opto Circuits said in a filing on BSE.
High pressure balloon is recommended for the treatment of arteriovenous (AV) fistulas, and shunt grafts as it reduces re-intervention and preserves future treatment options, it added.
Opto Circuits Chairman Vinod Ramnani said: "We are excited to launch this new generation shunt which will extend the life of millions of patients around the world."
Shares of Opto Circuits today closed at Rs 13.74 on BSE, up 18.76 per cent from the previous close.
