    Omron Healthcare steps into the Indian device market targeting 30pc revenue increase

    Omron Healthcare steps into the Indian device market targeting 30pc revenue increase


    Omron Healthcare, manufacturers of health monitoring products from Japan are planning to expand their presence in the Indian market; and raising their revenues by 30 % in 2016.This will be done by increasing their base to 26 cities in India; presently being operational in 16 of them.

    "We recognise the potential that India offers as a market and (the company) will witness a 30 per cent growth this year," said Hisao Masuda Healthcare, Managing Director of Omron, according to PTI.

    The company in a bid to raise targeted revenue this year plans to penetrate deeper into the Indian market. Raising awareness regarding the use of health monitoring devices, the company plans to look into online sales of their devices through e-business, according to an official announcement.

    The company's existing healthcare products in India include blood pressure, blood glucose monitors, nebulisers and body composition monitors.

    "Our vision is to contribute to the advancement of India's healthy life through business operations and we are working to be the number one healthcare company in India," Masuda said.

    According to the company spokesperson, awareness about health issues being on the increase in the country, health monitoring devices had a great market here.

    Omron's announcement comes after the company changing guard, with healthcare expert Ranndy Kellog taking over as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company on April 1, 2016.

    "This year we are ramping up our mission to confront the ongoing epidemic of heart attacks and strokes – we will do that by building upon Omron's heritage of accuracy with new products that provide deeper insights, encourage behavioral change and promote healthier lifestyle habits," Kellog said.
