ITC in search of a CEO for its multi-speciality hospital

Kolkata: Diversified conglomerate ITC Limited was now in the search of a CEO for its proposed foray into the healthcare sector by way of setting up a multi-speciality hospital in the country.

"Firstly, the Articles of Association had to be changed to place the proposal before the ITC board. After doing that, we are now in the search of a CEO", chairman Y C Deveshwar told reporters here.

Deveshwar said there was growing requirement of proper healthcare in the country today.

"The focus of some private hospitals, is of revenue generation. Patients were used an instruments of revenue generation. ITC will not tread that path and remuneration to doctors and other clinical staff will be given on the basis of patient outcomes", he said.

Asked where ITC was planning to set up the hospital, he said "nothing has been decided as of now".
