Bombay High-Court has Instructed the Industrial court to examine Sun Pharma MR transfer issue within 6-months

Sun Pharmaceutical Industry’s move to transfer 54 medical representatives has been taken up by the Bombay High court. It has instructed the industrial court to look into the charges of those who claim to be forcefully transferred by the company.

The industrial court had dismissed the appeal filed by the Federation of Medical and Sales Association of India to block the transfers, earlier this year. The plea being that the matter did not fall under its jurisdiction, which fell under the Maharashtra Recognition of Trade Unions and Prevention of Unfair labour Practices Act.

The industrial court has now been directed by the High court to finalize the matter within six months, according to sources. The dispute between Sun Pharma and the medical representatives erupted last year when the company was in the process of taking over Ranbaxy and on completion had got into the process of integrating commercial operations of both the companies reported ET.

Sun Pharma revealed that the decision taken was in concurrence with the conclusions reached with the union.
