National Arogya Fair held from 12 th to 16 th February 2020

Dehradun: PhD Chamber in association with Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India & Government of Uttarakhand organized National 'Arogya Fair' held from 12th-16th February 2020 at Parade Ground, Dehradun.

The objective of the National Arogya fair was to sensitize all the stakeholders regarding the evolution of the unique medical paradigm with traditional practices along with the Biomedicine, the significance, benefits of AYUSH- Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homoeopathy and its scope in public health across the Globe.

The Inaugural Session of the National AROGYA Fair was graced by the Chief Guest Smt. Baby Rani Maurya, Hon'ble Governor, Govt. of Uttarakhand and Guest of Honour Dr Harak Singh Rawat, Hon'ble Minister for AYUSH & AYUSH Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand and Special Guests at the Inaugural Session were Acharya Bal Krishan Ji, Patanjali Ayurved Ltd., Padma Shree Swami Bharat Bhushan Ji, Bharat Yog and H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, His Holiness, Spiritual Head of Parmarth Niketan Ashram Rishikesh and eminent dignitaries on the dais were Dr D.K. Aggarwal, President PHD Chamber, Mr Pradeep Multani, Vice President, PHD Chamber, Shri. Sunil Uniyal Gama, Hon'ble Mayor of Dehradun, Shri. Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary, Department of AYUSH, State Government of Uttarakhand, Shri Ramanad Meena, Dy Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, Dr Narendra Bhatt, Advisor, Herbalife International, Shri. Vishwas Dawar, Chairman, Uttarakhand Urban Environment Conservation Council, Mr S P Kochar, Mentor Uttarakhand State Chapter and Mr Verendra Kalra, Chairman, Uttarakhand State Chapter, PHD Chamber, Mr Vivek Seigell, Principal Director, PHD Chamber.

Smt. Baby Rani Maurya, Hon'ble Governor, Govt. of Uttarakhand appreciated the efforts of Department of AYUSH, Govt. of India, State Govt. of Uttarakhand and the PHD Chamber which is organizing the National Arogya Fair 2020 at Dehradun. She added that this will definitely promote AYUSH and the benefits it offers among masses of Uttarakhand.


The Guest of Honour, Dr Rawat said that Government of Uttarakhand has adopted ambitions SDG Targets for universalizing AYUSH as the primary growth driver of the economy and the brand Uttarakhand as a preferred destination for "Health & Wellness Tourism".

Dr D.K. Aggarwal President PHD Chamber stated that Uttarakhand is one of the major hubs of AYUSH in the country. Along with its surreal landscape and tranquil environment, it is the seat of the age-old practise of healthy living called AYUSH. The state has been an ideal destination for AYUSH in India, helping people to choose a healthier lifestyle and to get rid of their stress.

Shri Pradeep Multani, Vice President, PHD Chamber mentioned that the growing of medicinal plants will be far more remunerative for the farmers as the produce will not have to go to the regular mandis at MSPs or face the threat of lower rates because of intermediaries. Better price realised on medicinal plants will help grow the income of the farmers and help fulfil the dream of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India of doubling the farmers' income.

The Inaugural Session was also followed by Saraswati Vandana & Dahnwantri Vandana Dance performances by Young Artists.

There were a total of 51 Stalls from AYUSH Industry, Central govt. Councils and State Govt. of Uttarakhand. The other highlights include free OPDs, Free Medicine Distribution and various therapies. In AYUSH Pavilion Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) and Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN), National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB) represented the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. A stall of Sowa Rigpa- the Tibetan the traditional system of Medicine which has been recently bought under Ayurveda also displayed their system of medicine and conducted free OPDs.

The overall footfall during the five days National Arogya Fair was over 50000 and there were 20000 free OPDs conducted by Central Govt. Councils, State Govt. of Uttarakhand and few National Players of AYUSH system.

The Valedictory Session of the State AROGYA Fair held on 16th February 2020 and the dignitaries present on the dais were Mr S.P. Kochhar Mentor & Former Chairman, Uttarakhand PHDCCI, Mr Verendra Kalra, Chairman PHDCCI Uttarakhand, Mr Anand Swaroop (IAS), Director Ayurvedic & Unani Services, Govt. Of Uttarakhand, Ms Anukriti Gusain, Social Entrepreneur, Miss Asia Pacific 2014, Femina miss grand international 2017, Shri Khajan Das, Vidhayak, Rajpur Road, Dehradun.

PhD Chamber felicitated with a certificate of participation to all the Exhibitors & Colleges performing in the Cultural evening & Yoga Sessions Students and Winners of Quiz Competition 2020.
