Lucknow: In another big step towards realizing a massive movement of the hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that seeks to create a Clean India “Swachh Bharat” Abhiyan, OptiMaser, a path breaking product that treats biomedical waste across the nation, sets to revolutionize this sector by signing an MoU Agreement with India’s only Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR).

OptiMaser has created history by aligning with IITR for its clinical and translational research in the field of antibacterial, micro/nano mechanical materials, advanced applications.

The MoU was successfully signed in Lucknow on 2nd June 2017 between Dr. Alok Dhawan (Director IITR) and Mr. Monish Bhandari (Executive Director SSMED).

A top notch team headed by India’s leading scientists/microbiologists/ industrialists including Dr. Rishi Shanker, Mr. Monish Bhandari & Dr. Mohan Kamthan will now work closely with OptiMaserTM and its clinical applications.

According to MoU, the Microwave Assisted Clinical group headed by Dr. Rishi Shanker, will research within strict stipulated time on microwave’s clinical application. OptiMaser in turn will incorporate these clinical references into instant commercialization at its state of art two manufacturing facilities located at Gurugram (Haryana) & Lucknow (UP).

Today, with milestones set, the group will develop dedicated cycles for clinical translational research using OptiMaserTM microwave technology, which has never been tried or conceptualised anywhere in the world before.

The tech group shall collectively work on the following:

  1. Class A drugs desynthesis/ inactivation

  2. Rice Husk Disinfection

  3. Cages Disinfection

  4. Dialyzer Disinfection for reuse

  5. Blood Bag Disinfection

  6. O.T. Linen Sterilization

  7. Plastic tubing sterilization for reuse.

  8. Metal items sterilization for reuse

On this momentous occasion, Mr. Monish Bhandari, Executive Director, OptiMaser, said “We are excited about the tremendous growth that our collaboration with IITR will bring with progressive innovations in Microwave Technology for Infection Control. The MoU is a big step forward because it combines the strengths of two powerhouses of Indian academia & industry. OptiMaser will closely collaborate with IITR in realizing India’s infection & epidemic control/ management optimization, through extensive research on infection control.

We are already pioneers in bio-waste management, and are set to reach greater heights by closely working with one of the world’s prestigious institutes for toxicology research. This collaboration is set to bring a paradigm shift in infection control with zero impact on environment.”

Amid discussion, Prof. Dr. Alok Dhawan, Director, IITR, said “the product fully developed would entirely disrupt the existing technology of Autoclave. OptiMaserTMconsumes 1/10th of the power with Zero Emission... mobile.. & completely destroys all harmful bacteria instantly”

Test runs for the aforesaid cycles would be initiated in July 2017 with ethical validation proposed from leading institutes in India, Singapore & Europe.
