Hyderabad Pharma City Project: KTR seeks Rs 1318 crore assistance from Centre

The minister contended that Hyderabad Pharma City is the "world's largest integrated pharma park" to promote domestic manufacturing of pharmaceuticals in line with the "Make in India" initiative.

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR recently wrote to Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan seeking an assistance of Rs 1318 for the Hyderabad Pharma City (HPC) project, proposed to be developed near here.

A month ago, the minister apprised that the Pharma City Project had received an overwhelming response from the industry stakeholders and is expected to generate investments worth Rs 64,000 crore and provide direct and indirect employment to 5.60 lakh people.

To proceed with the project, KTR recently sought a grant of Rs 1,318 crore for implementation of external infrastructure linkages and Rs 2,100 crore for the project towards Phase-1 internal infrastructure development from the Minister of Railways and Commerce, Piyush Goyal while natural gas allocation on preferential tariff basis and reliable supply for project operations from Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Minister. The official letter written by KTR reads;

The minister contended that HPC is the "world's largest integrated pharma park" to promote domestic manufacturing of pharmaceuticals in line with the "Make in India" initiative.

"Government of Telangana reassures its commitment towards the development of a world-class Hyderabad Pharma City and promoting competitive domestic manufacturing of pharmaceuticals under the Make in India initiative of GOI," KTR told ANI.
