Dr Reddys unveils generic version of Rozerem Tablets in US for treating insomnia

The product is a therapeutically equivalent generic version of Rozerem (ramelteon, 8 mg) Tablets, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).


New Delhi: Drugmaker, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. has announced the launch of Ramelteon Tablets, 8 mg indicated for the treatment of insomnia in the US market.


The product is a therapeutically equivalent generic version of Rozerem (ramelteon, 8 mg) Tablets, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).

Dr Reddy’s Ramelteon Tablets are available as 8 mg tablets in bottle count sizes of 30, 100, and 1000.


"Rozerem is a trademark of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited," the drug major said


"The Rozerem brand had U.S. sales of approximately $91.3 million MAT for the most recent twelve months ending in May 2019 according to IQVIA Health," the company added.



Based in Hyderabad, Dr Reddys was founded by Anji Reddy, who previously worked in the mentor institute Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited, of Hyderabad, India.
