Child healthcare start up Babygogo raises 2 Cr

Kudos to Addo Technologies Pvt Ltd and Anjel investor Rajul Garg for successfully raising Rs. 2 crore($300,000) for Babygogo mobile app in its seed funding round. Babygogo mobile app connects parents with child healthcare experts.

Credit also goes to Daljit Singh, President at Fortis Healthcare; Aditya Vij, former C.E.O. of Fortis Healthcare; Kishore Kumar, Founder and Chairman of Cloudnine Hospitals; and Shuchin Bajaj, Co-founder of Cygnus Hospitals who helped the venture succeed by turning it into a fist venture.

Babygogo a startup will use the funds to improve its technology , analytical engine, and to explore new channels in digital marketing.

The mobile app is a platform for parents and health experts to come together for a dialogue on child related issues. Some of the areas that paediatricians on this forum address for parents are related to baby health, food, growth and psychology.. The Babygogo startup is also building a team of in-house experts on child health to help pregnant women and mothers.

AddoDoc, a platform for doctors to manage patient data, was founded in 2014 by Siddhartha Ahluwalia. Ahluwalia, along with co-founders Sowrab NRS and Satyadeep Karnati, launched the Babygogo app in October 2015. Garg the force behind Babygogo has also put money into healthcare startups like Qikwell and Cygnus Hospitals. He also recently invested in LifCare, a full-service pharmacy targeting patients with chronic illnesses.

Highlighting the difference between Babygogo and other healthcare startups, the Healthcare mobile app in a statement said, "We are working in the niche (area) of mother and child healthcare, delivering value through personalized content,"

A lot off investor interest is being generated in health start ups of late. $90 million was raised by Practo, a startup which helps patients find doctors online besides providing other services. Lybrate, another online and mobile-based platform that connects patients to doctors had secured $10 million last year.

Another group of health-tech startups focusing on childcare advice online have also raised funding. In January, $100,000 were raised by My Child App, which helps parents track learning disorder in children; close on its heels in February parenting app BabyBerrysecured $1 million (Rs 6.8 crore) in angel funding from a set of investors.

The other investors involved in the Babygogo app venture include Salil Kapoor, India managing director of video-on-demand service HOOQ; Ashu Agarwal, director at BW Accelerate; Ritesh Malik, founder of Innov8; Ashish Tulsian, founder of Posist; and Afsal Salu, co-founder of BigBasket-acquired logistics startup, Delyver.
