BIJNOR: A Bangalore based company is being enquired by Ashutosh Mishra, a drug inspector in Bijnor district after 800 blood sample collecting kits showed wrong results which were manufactured by the firm and supplied to the Bijnor district hospital for testing of blood group. TOI reports that all the sample kits showed the same blood group.

To further check the sample kits a team from the district will be sent to Bangalore, following which a case is likely to be filed against the firm.

Speaking about the matter officials said that they came to know about it during a blood donation camp that was organized by the health department on August 2 at Najibabad city in the district and found that the kits were showing the same blood group for each donor.

The kits were immediately sealed and a sample was sent to the National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) in Noida for further inspection in September.

P R Nayar, the district nodal officer of blood donation programme has also confirmed that the kits were showing wrong results.

According to the NIB results, the kits were dysfunctional.

According to the Officials, the kits were delivered in July and were also distributed at various community health centers (CHCs) across the district which was later destroyed.

Mishra told TOI, "The kits were found to be dysfunctional and an inquiry has been set up in this connection. A team will soon be sent to Bangalore to check the company's records. After an investigation, a case will be lodged against the firm at the district court here."
